Tiered pricing enables different segments of the marketplace, whether academic, governmental, or corporate, to enjoy full access to the RUP journals online at rates that are appropriate to their size, need, and likely usage.

TIER 1

Academic:
• 2-year (associate’s) college
• Technical/vocational college or university
• 4-year (baccalaureate) college, including department libraries
• Master’s college/university
• Dental, nursing, or pharmacology school

Medical:
• Private practice office or clinic
• Residency program
• Allied health training program
• Hospital or clinic not affiliated with a medical school, including department libraries

Public/Not-for-Profit:
• Non-research public library
• Independent research library
• Health policy/advocacy office
• Small governmental or independent research laboratory, institute, or organization (fewer than 25 PhD.-level researchers)
• Local or regional governmental agency or ministry
• Not-for-profit organization
• Professional society or trade association/union

Corporate:
• Small for-profit company (500 or fewer relevant FTEs, including researchers and sales and marketing personnel)

TIER 2

Academic:
• Small doctoral research university (awards up to 25 PhDs annually), including departmental libraries
• Not-for-profit research institute or organization affiliated with an academic institution

Medical:
• Medical school, including department libraries
• Major research or teaching hospital (affiliated with a medical school and offering residency programs), including department libraries

Public/Not-for-Profit:
• Midsize not-for-profit governmental or independent research institute or organization (25–100 PhD.-level researchers)


Corporate:
• Mid-size for-profit company within one or more countries (501-1,499 relevant FTEs, including researchers and sales and marketing personnel)

TIER 3

Academic:
• Large doctoral research university (awards more than 25 PhDs annually), including departmental libraries

Medical:
• Healthcare network

Public/Not-for-Profit:
• Large not-for-profit governmental or independent research institute or organization

Corporate:
• Large for-profit company within one or more countries (1,500+ relevant FTEs, including researchers and sales and marketing personnel)
