About the Cover

Cover Figure

COVER PICTURE: Dengue virus (DV) entry is facilitated through DC-SIGN (CD209) expressed on dendritic cells (DCs). THP-1 cells are rendered susceptible to DV only after transfection with DC-SIGN. Both cell types were exposed to virus and stained for DC-SIGN (green), DV envelope antigen (red), and nucleic acid (blue) at 2 and 24 h after exposure. Note the absence of viral antigens at the early time point (center right, DC; top right, THP-DC-SIGN) and the accumulation of viral antigens after 24 h (center left, DC; bottom left, THP-DC-SIGN). See related article by Tassaneetrithep et al., pp.(pages 823-829).
