The bottom panel shows normal macrophage membrane ruffling 10 min after encountering the particle. After 1 h, more than 90% of the particles have been completely engulfed. The top panel shows macrophages in which the function of the GTPase, dynamin 2, has been inhibited by expression of a dominant negative mutant form of the protein.
